End of April ... Its gonna be May (as N S Y N C would say)

Final post of April … and what a great month it has been. I began my blog, continued my blog and am excited to carry it through into May and beyond. Last night provided another fantastic episode of Made in Chelsea, giving its viewers their weekly fix of fence scenes and awkward silences. Furthermore, the cast seem to have an alcohol problem going by the excessive visits to bars and pubs during any part (and normally most of) the day. One can assume they subscribe to ‘Living Social’ and have a lot of vouchers to claim … speaking of alcohol, I became aware of a very interesting blog in April, Gin O’clock. After being shown Elizabeth Windsor's twitter I have been an avid follower. It is a hilarious read and gives some thought provoking views on topically political events.

Speaking of gin, a recent gin taste test by Jilly Goolden has revealed that Aldi's own gin can stand up to the likes of Gordons. Being a huge gin fan I have to admit that personally, Sainsburys own gin hits the spot and not the bank account. Another reason to cut the corners when purchasing your more sophisticated beverage is that you can treat yourself to some lovely attire from http://www.twostoned.co.uk. Take a look at the link to a blazer from the brand, a great buy at just £50!
 Two stoned blazer
If you’re thinking of purchasing a full suit or tux rather than just a blazer, but have the dilemma of empty wallet syndrome, then you’re in luck.

Double O bargain tux
Johnny Tuxedo has brought out a tux for £99 which you can put in the washing machine! It sounds ideal for students, when washing and ironing is the bane of your life and apparently will make you look like Daniel Craig (another loose and fast and generally wrong quote from the DailyMail).
To be honest i think the brand has done a really good job with this new line, with the advert looking not too far off a Jack Wills poster. Follow the link for a browse of the range.

If you’re looking for something more upmarket but still watching the purse strings then take a look at Buongiorno YOOX.
The Italian fashion outlet YOOX provides last year’s designer clothes worn by the Real Madrid team (maybe) at a fraction of the price. So if you're looking for some posh get-up that won't cost you your life savings then take a look at the link. Have a look at the trends I've posted, even though it's last year’s stuff the looks are pretty much timeless. You always need a nice plain shirt and tie, am I right?!
mynewfavourite online store:

Looking for a more casual look, then take a look at this sassy minx (nipples pierced and all). Today he's wearing a hoodie from Primark, CK jeans and Topman Tee. Today I'm wearing a Topman jumper and River Island jeans. Both are comfy warm looks for a spring weekend. I think that mixing brands is always the best idea; designer jeans can be purchased at a reasonable price from TK Maxx so I definitely think it’s worth the extra effort burrowing through the rails of clothing to find the perfect pair.

Team up with a pair of Converse (you can't go wrong). Its worth looking into a leather pair, if like me you were them to death until they fall apart in about 6 months then you should definitely get some leather ones.
And for some great nipple bars:

Today's day wear - eye wear by Paul Smith

Today I'm wearing Paul Smith spectacles. I've posted this today as I'm currently looking into getting a new pair, and though expensive, I definitely feel are worth the investment. I've posted my choice for the next two years, a similar shape but more golden colour. I've looked into a lot of different glasses and have had a nightmare in the past trying to find ones which suit, but I definitely think Paul Smith offers a wide enough selection to cater for all.

Today's crochet exclusive from Granny

Probably myoldfavourite cardigan is hand made by Granny. A popular piece which has been worn by practically all of my friends for its old school look and comfy warm feel. I've teamed it with a plain blue shirt from New Look, Zara low scoop t-shirt and Topman boots (half price sale last Summer!).

Follow the link for New Looks "cheap and cheerful" tailoring range. Unfortunately, at the age of 90 years young Granny is no longer taking commissions.

シャンブレー in French. I think ...

A big summer trend this summer is the Chambray style shirt. If you're looking at some more expensive investments or if you have pots of gold lying around then take a look at their website

http://www.oki-ni.com/jp-jp/tops/carven-men-s-chambray-shirt-car1607wht.html

Oki-ni offer some great pieces, particularly shirts and jumper/cardigans. So if you're looking for the odd piece to go with your favourite high street brands then its definitely worth spending a few extra pennies on this brand for a more exclusive look.

Keep checking mynewfavourite.blogspot.co.uk for more trend links

Today he's wearing

The most eligible non bachelor from Winsford in Cheshire. A Bristol University graduate of Chemistry, national cheerleader superstar extraordinaire and a visage to match such high credentials. He really has it all, not to mention a great look today.

Get the shirt from topman, a big fan of the chords (and the Corrs) he purchased it in green as well.
Get the Tee from zara, a little slutty (but if you've got it...)
Get the shorts, Levi. There's nothing quite like a mince in a tiny pair of denims.

Not so daft, Daft Punk edit

Vanderway brings this soon to be summer hit, Random Access Memories. If my recent posts for Karma Kid and Daktyl weren't enough to quench your greedy music taste buds then I hope this will suffice...

Speaking of french lovelies (and I'm not talking pastry) take a look at April 77's collection. I've posted a link to one of their leather jackets which is reasonably priced considering its uniqueness and quality.
A leather jacket is a must for most people's wardrobes, being wearable all year round and definitely an eye catcher when worn well. Please do not be put off by the terrifying man wearing this one ... they also have a great selection of jeans and shirts which I'm sure will take your fancy.

Poste shoes - the best you'll ever have

Poste shoes are possibly my favourite, classic, stylish and will last a very long time. In the words of John Legend, "the best you've ever had", not that he doesn't want to brag (despite writing an entire song about a women never being able to get saucisson quite like what she's had with him) but I do. Poste shoes are amazing (and so is John, by the way).

Today's pink parade

Today I'm wearing a vintage Levis jacket, with plain pink jumper from GAP and River Island jeans. Plain block coloured jumpers generally go with everything and can work well for casual and more formal wear. Take a look at the link for some simple choices

...and yes, this is what jigglypuff would look like in denim.

I'm also wearing Emporio Armani City Glam, a discontinued fragrance which is available on Ebay. Which is great because its possibly one of the nicest fragrances they've ever made !
Look out for the bottle

Karma Kid loves Cable knit, probably

A great summer song brought to you by Karma Kid (as featured in my Verbier post) and a great jumper brought to you by Bellfield clothing.
Have a listen to Karma Kid's new song, In My Arms ...
and soon to be in my arms ...

Today I'm wearing ... a hangover

So I'm not really wearing anything yet because of the bad bad Gin that I was made to drink.

But please have a look at the wrist watches below. So there's only two watches currently available in the world, one is a beautiful Omega costing around $9000, the other a much more affordable Help for Heroes watch costing a mere £99. Thank god ay ?

Today I'm walking on suuunshiine, and wearing ...

The sun came out ... and then the clouds descended over. As they consistently seem to do over the glorious British landscape. At least it hasn't rained, yet. I won't be posting links to anoraks, don't worry.

Today I'm wearing an old pair of Ray-bans which I found in a vintage shop in Brighton (for a newer and fresher smelling pair http://www.ray-ban.com/uk). I'm also wearing an old pair of jeans from TKmax which I cut up and since I have liked a whole lot more, and a t-shirt from H&M. I had a browse earlier on H&M's website as they always seem to provide a bit of a safe European-esque image which I think the vest top represents well ...

http://www.hm.com/gb/product/10282?article=10282-A

I've also used a Toni and Guy hair mouse product, salon results without the pretentious scissor happy diva prices. It works really well to give a smoother look for when you're running late and don't have time to put every single hair into place with your mat clay or half pot of gel.

The hills are alive ... and crunking to Daktyl

A young and talented up and coming DJ who I think we'll be hearing a lot of very soon - Daktyl.
This is one of my favourites, Mary J Blige: As I am (Remix), have a listen !

Want more ... yes ? Find him on Youtube and Soundcloud and I'm sure lots of other young people music websites.

I hate Mondays...hello Tuesday

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that my guilty pleasure is the DailyMail, the non-story articles about celebrities walking to Starbucks does provide some light relief during those stressful days. Their recent exclusives (loose and fast with the phrase "exclusive") seem to run along the lines of "Thom Evans wears pants again". Thom shows off his athlete's physique in the campaign, stretching out to reveal his perfectly chiseled abs
If the direction for the shoot was "final scene of The Black Swan". Nailed it Thom.

Well, Freshpair are offering 3 for 2 on CK's. Sorry Thom.

MIC's London fashion week throwback

After watching Made in Chelsea and struggling to get over the magnitude of dickichness Spencer Mathews seems to embrace at every opportunity, it was however a nice reminder of the fantastic collections displayed at London fashion week. A collection that never disappoints remained consistent in 2013, Burberry Prorsum. I've attached a link for a similar but brighter look provided by ASOS that will definitely give you a more unique look whilst rubbing shoulders with Ollie and Mille in Mahiki ...

Bank holiday bags

After my Dad's dog ate my last holdall I've been left with the predicament of finding a leather holdall which I don't have to sell my granny for to afford. Take a look at the Hardy Amies bags for some classy inspiration when looking for the ideal May bank holiday weekend bag. If like me you're not part of the Made in Chelsea cast or feeding your Corgies caviar for brunch then click on the link below.

Todays walking promotion

So today I donned a Zara knot jumper, Allsaints Tee and black skinny jeans from Topman with a H&M belt. Three things I love, black jeans, loose knits and stripes ! Especially when those stripes are going round a three quarter length t-shirt - winner winner ...

Just a heads up on some great undies on sale.
Simple and look great. What more could you want ?

What I want ! Scotch & Soda (and Scotch)

A clothing brand I have been a huge fan of for a long time is Scotch and Soda. I've picked out a couple casual Spring/Summer buys which I'm sure I'll be grabbing soon, take a look...

Good Morning Scally dog

Thinking of sprucing up your rather sad looking Winter bitten garden ? Or feel like your house is lacking a classy homely touch ? Or possibly you have both such dramatic dilemmas. Have a browse at these two gems: The Worm That Turned; a nostalgically inspired vintage garden shop local to me, and The Scally Dog; A definite diamond in the rough ! Here are a few things I purchased a while ago from both ...

More readers !!!

Apparently people have started to send in pictures, which is great news when they look like this ...
I'll take 5.

Spring has finally arrived !

Yes the sun is out and the last couple of days have proved a refreshing change of the Baltic winter that has over stayed its welcome ... so like most people i donned my shorts the instant temperatures timidly rose above the 12°C and dusted off my pumps. I soon realised that this wasn't one of my best ideas since the sun came out (as I'm sure a lot of others did but won't admit) but it did provide at least one nice picture of myself and my housemate (sorry ladies he's happily taken, I've tried, the bloody temptress).

For some great additions to your spring wardrobe feast your eyes on COW's selection. For just £19 I managed to steal this denim piece.

WHAT I WANT

I think Zara has got some winners this season in terms of great tees and blazers. For that casual spring look I've teamed them with Gas jeans (possible the comfiest denim to grace my buttocks) and my favourite brand of shoes, Poste.

For a classic pair of boots that will last you a long time, which I say from yet to be disprovened experience then follow the link below.
Sweet Gandhi's tits they are on sale ... http://www.office.co.uk/mens/poste/christiano_chukka_boot/41/12916/36490/1?fs=12916

Verbier who ?

Val Thorens turned out to be the only place worth visiting on the slopes for 2013. I say this having not skied in about 6 years and embracing the Uni trip like Bambi on ice, except slightly (just slightly) less graceful.
But what is a bold statement without justification (garbage in case you were wondering) so take a look at this video created by Jonty Whiter which says it all.

A new tumblr to look out for which will probably add some culture into your life comes from the lovely Miss Lucy Helen Elliott. Watch this space (just take note of the link below).

Francine Lewis

BGT's latest fame hungry go getter is the suprisingly talented Francine Lewis. Though it saddens me to say Simon Cowell introduced me to her I recommend giving her a chance becuase she is hillarious.

Enough said.

It begins

In a desperate attempt to procrastinate and find some obscure way to remain in denial that another year awaits of uni (disregarding that the current year is yet to finish) I have decided to start a blog ... Hopefully it will provide some light relief to the distress brought on by work and Friday night Ocean withdrawal and hopefully you'll enjoy it to.
