Marbella apparel - Platinum and S.C. Vintage

In a weeks time I will be lounging on a beach in the lovely sunny Marbella, probably nursing a raging hang over and metamorphosing into a giant red lobster. That aside, after browsing attire which I want to take away with me I came across some great finds. In particular, Platinum apparel offer brilliant holiday vibe clothing which really stands out and offer a diverse range of vests and t-shirts which can be worn for casual day or evening wear. I've teamed them up with Religion shorts (from Sereneorder) and H&M sunglasses to complete the look. I've also found a shirt from S.C Vintage which is perfect for smarter evening wear, which I've teamed up with shoes from Poste and jeans by Cheap Monday (from asos).
Check out more from S.C. Vintage and Platinum apparel.

I envisage hearing a lot of the controversial Jennifer Lopez 'Live it up' during the short Marbella break, which is kind of my guilty pleasure right now. Just a shame I'll miss the TOWIE cast who left earlier this week...

Venture out for Venture couture

Venture Couture is a relatively new clothing company providing a range of printed t-shirts, hoodies, jackets and vests. The urban designs are bold and eye catching for all of the right reasons, and at just £24.99 (for a limited time) there isn't a better time to invest in one of their t-shirts. I've picked out a couple of my favourite items from their online store, a printed t-shirt and grey blazer. To see the full extent  of the diverse range, check out Shop Venture Couture

For £69.99 Venture Couture give exactly what you want from a blazer; a slim cut, discrete collar and ideal length. I have to admit that their blazers rival the likes of Zara, providing a better fit and cut for similar prices to the Spanish clothing giant.

All in all, get a t-shirt while they're £24.99 and if you're looking for a new blazer click the link above!

Looking forward to, Time and Place

Time and Place is a new up and coming clothing label. They went out on a whim starting the company and have big ambitions. This is the start of their range which is currently being perfected, and a more diverse range is set to follow.

The designs look great and I'm excited to see what they show in the future!

Hot Fuss, over denim

The Killers are possibly my favourite band ever. I've been listening to them constantly whilst revising for my exams and just can't get enough. Furthermore, The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers is probably the best dressed rock artist on the planet, and was included in GQ's most stylish top 50 list.

Here's the great man sporting a more casual look with a clean denim jacket looking as cool as ever. Well, there's only one way to look more alternative than a rock artist in denim - pull the sleeves off. And you're in luck chaps, because Antony Morato and True Religion have done the pulling/cutting for you bringing you a little bit closer to Flower's look.
Antony Morato Jacket £95 and True Religion Jacket £96

The True Religion jacket is currently on sale, so you'll need to hurry if you want to wear it to your next gig ...

To finish, a great song from their most recent album, Battleborn.

Revision fashion

So I'm having a quick break from revision and treating myself to an episode of Made in Chelsea whilst I write this post. Typing rapidly before my brain is slowly numbed from the mindless tosh (as posh people say) , before everything I write ceases to be coherent (again, posh people talk). I'm wearing a shirt from COW,  Tee-shirt from Zara basics, Vans shoes, Topman jeans and H&M belt.

I've posted a look featuring a must for all male dressers - a decent brown leather belt, which can be worn everyday. Following with Zara basics, I've posted a link to a plain jumper which is one of many great additions to the their collection. Furthermore, for all you 'watch wearers' I've posted a link to another gold Nixon watch which is a versatile and in my opinion, a great addition to your wardrobe.

And finally, my housemate has been begging me recently to feature in my blog so here she is...wearing the best parts of a ninja costume with a large clutch/Toshiba laptop and a great gold Casio watch. Yellow fever

All great things are yellow; submarines, Coldplay albums and the brick road from the Wizard of Oz. Adding to this infamous list is H&M's swim shorts. I know I've posted about their shorts before fairly recently, but after receiving an email from a very excited reader on his findings I thought I'd write a quick post.
 Swim shorts and Jumper

You can have both these golden wonders for less than £20, so try and overt your eyes from Eurovision and purchase these lovelies before they're out of stock.

Monday undies

Being a boring student and having lots of exams in the next couple of weeks I'm not. going to be able to post as regularly. I promise I'll get back to the regular routine once they're finished with even more content for your hungry eyes. In the mean time, take a look at these bum enhancing briefs ...

Saturday's style and The Saturdays

Today I'm wearing a Scotch and Soda jumper, with Topman jeans and H by Hudson shoes. Despite the minor glimpse of Summer we've been teased with it seems usual weather has resumed, rain. In response to our climate change and the dilemmas it creates I've posted a range of versatile items to be worn throughout the seasons. The Scotch and Soda jumper and Religion leather jacket can definitely be worn for many seasons to come, whereas the T-shirt is more of a grunge trend so may pass. Needless to say, its worth investing in a few items a little more damaging to the purse strings as they're sure to last you a very long time. Follow the links for a browse, and enjoy your Saturday!

Today I'm wearing - Love to hate Tee

Today I'm wearing a t-shirt which I seem to have a love hate relationship with. I've had it for about 3 years and have worn it only a handful of times.

Well lucky for the seedy lady, I'm a fan of it today and have paired it with Topman skinny jeans and some very raggedy dog eaten Converse shoes.  For a new pair follow the link, 'NEW SHOES', I keep meaning to buy a leather pair so shall definitely get some today!

Stripey Tee £20

NEW SHOES
Check out the tees from Urban Outfitters, I've picked a similar one to what I'm wearing today, except a little (or lot in fact) less creepy.

Summer's choice of trunks

Summer is just around the corner for the UK which I'm sure you're painfully aware of as you scour the internet for how to do the 5/2 diet. Well if you need a little encouragement to say "be gone delicious carbs!" then why not purchase a very unmodest pair of Aussiebum trunks. If however you want to leave a little more to the imagination and keep a little more in your bank account then I'd recommend a pair from H&M. I've placed a picture of Hugo Boss ones next to the H&M pair to show how great they look, especially when they're £12.99 !

Aussiebum (if you're Daniel Craig),
H&M (if you're not) and
Hugo Boss (if you're mad)

Also, a breakdown on the 5/2 diet: Eat less at the weekends and jog a little. (How is that a million dollar idea?)

MIC fashion from Proudlock and the local arrest

As per Spencer enforces his douche-bag status as he refers to the Bentley as "this old thing" and the awkwardness continues with the Olly-Ashley-Oscar love triangle. Despite Ashley being beautiful Olly seams to have lost his libido, perhaps he should reconsider his 'bi' status, maybe. Anyways, after watching I had a look at Oliver Proudlock's clothing range, Serge de Nimes; and in case you were wondering what you can get for just under £200 then wonder no further
I'm sure Oliver is a very talented artist and I really like him on the show, but I think he should divert his attention away from t-shirts and beanies. Not to mention the fact that the store called "Serge de Nime" has nothing to do with denim ...

For something a little cheaper then have a look at Humour clothing and Villain clothing, both available from Reem Clothing.
T-shirt £15

Also, I hope you all enjoyed the bank holiday weekend! If not, then this should make you feel a bit better about it ...

Check shirt's from COW

Check shirts are definitely a popular choice with a range provided by all of the well known clothing brands you'd expect such as Topman and River Island. If you want to try and get something a little more unique then why not try COW which is now online (http://www.wearecow.com/). I've posted a few of my favourites from their website which are a bargain! If you're not a lumberjack, then you should probably wear with a decent pair of jeans and some form of accessory (not a Pandora bracelet ...) but perhaps a bracelet from Urban Outfitters ...

If 2nd hand purchases really aren't what you're after then perhaps you are considering investing a little more in a new, unworn and definitely germ free shirt.

I've added some links to a shirt from Allsaints and an amazing leather jacket from the original owners of Allsaints, Bolongaro Trevor. And whilst on the theme of extravagantly priced clothing, then finish off the look with a plain Tee from Religion. Nevertheless, you're sure to look great.

Miguel adorns leather, probably

My first man of the week for May goes to the talented and successful Miguel. He wears the biker chic look to a tee which pushed me to invest in a leather jacket. I purchased mine in the sale from Barneys for just £100 and have worn it a lot since.

I would like to say it can be worn in all weather but as I walked onto campus today in the glaring sun I soon developed wardrobe regret. Nevertheless, I can't recommend Barneys enough in regard to quality and style as it remains as good as new more than a year since I bought it. Back to Miguel, he has recently released a new single called Adorn which is another great tune to add to his collection.
Whilst on the topic of grunge and bike chic and stuff, a great guy I know recently had his nipples pierced and though I was skeptical at first I have to admit they look good. If you fancy doing the same click on the link below for some bar ideas.

Today I'm wearing ... a box

Tuesday posed the great problem of transporting project work without the old automotive help. Luckily I had my new Poste shoes to get me there safely. Despite looking great they provide about as much comfort as Margaret Thatcher would have given to the Chilean miners if she was in charge. Nevertheless, if you're only making short walks and sitting down for extensive amounts of time then these pavement pounders are a must buy.
Project in progress ... in case you were wondering, its the beginning of a cover for a low adhesive tape laying device to provide low adhesion railway track tests. If you'd like to find out more then there's something wrong with you.
I recommend following the link to buy a pair, probably a more comfortable pair ...

End of April ... Its gonna be May (as N S Y N C would say)

Final post of April … and what a great month it has been. I began my blog, continued my blog and am excited to carry it through into May and beyond. Last night provided another fantastic episode of Made in Chelsea, giving its viewers their weekly fix of fence scenes and awkward silences. Furthermore, the cast seem to have an alcohol problem going by the excessive visits to bars and pubs during any part (and normally most of) the day. One can assume they subscribe to ‘Living Social’ and have a lot of vouchers to claim … speaking of alcohol, I became aware of a very interesting blog in April, Gin O’clock. After being shown Elizabeth Windsor's twitter I have been an avid follower. It is a hilarious read and gives some thought provoking views on topically political events.

Speaking of gin, a recent gin taste test by Jilly Goolden has revealed that Aldi's own gin can stand up to the likes of Gordons. Being a huge gin fan I have to admit that personally, Sainsburys own gin hits the spot and not the bank account. Another reason to cut the corners when purchasing your more sophisticated beverage is that you can treat yourself to some lovely attire from http://www.twostoned.co.uk. Take a look at the link to a blazer from the brand, a great buy at just £50!
 Two stoned blazer
If you’re thinking of purchasing a full suit or tux rather than just a blazer, but have the dilemma of empty wallet syndrome, then you’re in luck.

Double O bargain tux
Johnny Tuxedo has brought out a tux for £99 which you can put in the washing machine! It sounds ideal for students, when washing and ironing is the bane of your life and apparently will make you look like Daniel Craig (another loose and fast and generally wrong quote from the DailyMail).
To be honest i think the brand has done a really good job with this new line, with the advert looking not too far off a Jack Wills poster. Follow the link for a browse of the range.

If you’re looking for something more upmarket but still watching the purse strings then take a look at Buongiorno YOOX.
The Italian fashion outlet YOOX provides last year’s designer clothes worn by the Real Madrid team (maybe) at a fraction of the price. So if you're looking for some posh get-up that won't cost you your life savings then take a look at the link. Have a look at the trends I've posted, even though it's last year’s stuff the looks are pretty much timeless. You always need a nice plain shirt and tie, am I right?!
mynewfavourite online store:

Looking for a more casual look, then take a look at this sassy minx (nipples pierced and all). Today he's wearing a hoodie from Primark, CK jeans and Topman Tee. Today I'm wearing a Topman jumper and River Island jeans. Both are comfy warm looks for a spring weekend. I think that mixing brands is always the best idea; designer jeans can be purchased at a reasonable price from TK Maxx so I definitely think it’s worth the extra effort burrowing through the rails of clothing to find the perfect pair.

Team up with a pair of Converse (you can't go wrong). Its worth looking into a leather pair, if like me you were them to death until they fall apart in about 6 months then you should definitely get some leather ones.
And for some great nipple bars:

Today's day wear - eye wear by Paul Smith

Today I'm wearing Paul Smith spectacles. I've posted this today as I'm currently looking into getting a new pair, and though expensive, I definitely feel are worth the investment. I've posted my choice for the next two years, a similar shape but more golden colour. I've looked into a lot of different glasses and have had a nightmare in the past trying to find ones which suit, but I definitely think Paul Smith offers a wide enough selection to cater for all.

Today's crochet exclusive from Granny

Probably myoldfavourite cardigan is hand made by Granny. A popular piece which has been worn by practically all of my friends for its old school look and comfy warm feel. I've teamed it with a plain blue shirt from New Look, Zara low scoop t-shirt and Topman boots (half price sale last Summer!).

Follow the link for New Looks "cheap and cheerful" tailoring range. Unfortunately, at the age of 90 years young Granny is no longer taking commissions.

シャンブレー in French. I think ...

A big summer trend this summer is the Chambray style shirt. If you're looking at some more expensive investments or if you have pots of gold lying around then take a look at their website

http://www.oki-ni.com/jp-jp/tops/carven-men-s-chambray-shirt-car1607wht.html

Oki-ni offer some great pieces, particularly shirts and jumper/cardigans. So if you're looking for the odd piece to go with your favourite high street brands then its definitely worth spending a few extra pennies on this brand for a more exclusive look.

Keep checking mynewfavourite.blogspot.co.uk for more trend links

Not so daft, Daft Punk edit

Vanderway brings this soon to be summer hit, Random Access Memories. If my recent posts for Karma Kid and Daktyl weren't enough to quench your greedy music taste buds then I hope this will suffice...

Speaking of french lovelies (and I'm not talking pastry) take a look at April 77's collection. I've posted a link to one of their leather jackets which is reasonably priced considering its uniqueness and quality.
A leather jacket is a must for most people's wardrobes, being wearable all year round and definitely an eye catcher when worn well. Please do not be put off by the terrifying man wearing this one ... they also have a great selection of jeans and shirts which I'm sure will take your fancy.

Poste shoes - the best you'll ever have

Poste shoes are possibly my favourite, classic, stylish and will last a very long time. In the words of John Legend, "the best you've ever had", not that he doesn't want to brag (despite writing an entire song about a women never being able to get saucisson quite like what she's had with him) but I do. Poste shoes are amazing (and so is John, by the way).
